Einstein is held by many to be on the Autistic spectrum, in particular having Asperger syndrome according to researchers at Cambridge and Oxford Universities. As a child, Einstein was slow to talk, although the actually age he started talking is unclear. He was a loner, and repeated sentences obsessively until he was seven years old. According to Michael Fitzgerald, professor of psychiatry at Trinity College in Dublin, a long list of ‘geniuses’ ― including Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, George Orwell, H. G. Wells Ludwig Wittgenstein, Beethoven, Mozart, Hans Christian Andersen and Immanuel Kant ― all had Asperger syndrome. Autism experts are divided, with some believing that the evidence supports the idea that Einstein had Asperger’s or another form of high-functioning autism.
